Where to stay

Whatever the reason for your trip to Sunderland - a family holiday, a short city break, a business trip or a night out with friends, you will be embraced by a warm and friendly welcome at Sunderland's range of accommodation. You can choose from three and four star hotels to cosy guest houses or luxurious self-catering apartments.

All of the accommodation has been quality assessed by either by Visit England or the AA, or has recently applied for a rating and is awaiting assessment. Prices are listed per room per night and are subject to availability and change and it is advisable that you check prices with the establishment directly prior to booking as room rates may vary. Hotels and guest accommodation are all assessed to the same criteria. The star ratings reflect the overall quality of the experience.

Did you know?

Perhaps Sunderland's most prominent landmark is Penshaw Monument. It was built in 1844 in honour of the first Earl of Durham, John George Lambton. Penshaw was modelled on Theseion, the Temple of Thesus in Athens.
