Active Sunderland Summer Family Fun

Summer family fun

Come and join us for our Active Sunderland Summer Family Fun sessions, held  every weekday across the school  summer holidays in Herrington Country Park.

Lasting for 90 minutes, each bubble/household will be allocated a 10 x 10 metre independent space to participate in fun and structured activities. All sessions will include a mass warm up and cool down, and then there will be a number of instructor-led games and challenges suitable for the whole family to take part in (age 4 years and over).

Activities will include egg and spoon races, air boxercise, circuit challenge, balancing, mini hurdles, bean bag games, relay races, hula hooping, throw and catch, target games and much more! Each activity will last for approximately 10 minutes.

The sessions will take place every weekday from 22 July until 26 August. There will be two sessions per day, running from 10.30am to 12 noon and 1.30 to 3pm, except for Mondays where there is only an afternoon session.

Entry fee is £5 for a group of up to 6 people (which must include a minimum of one adult) from the same household/bubble.

On arrival to the event, each household/bubble will be allocated their own individual activity area and a box of equipment to carry out instructor led challenges and activities. All activities must be carried out in the designated area and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Numbers are limited and there will be me a maximum of 4 spaces per session available and these must be booked online.  Click here to book onto a session.

To ensure health and safety of all participants and staff, customers are advised to read the following ahead of the event:

We are working hard to ensure the safety of all event participants in line with government guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19
If you or any other member of your group have symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home and follow government guidelines
The events have been designed to maintain social distancing at all times
Please arrive to the event no earlier than 15 minutes before your session time
All participants/groups have been allocated their own individual activity area on the event site. For further safety each activity area has a 4 metre exclusion zone area around it
All equipment issued for the event comes in its own individual aerated box, which has been previously sanitized, and will be used by only your group
Hand sanitizer will be widely available at the event, however please feel free to bring your own
