Booking is essential. Lunch in The Glass Yard is included (Menu Limitations Apply)
Drawing concepts, ideas and designs from the beautiful local environment, this skills based class over 5 days will explore the possibilities and potential of flameworked Borosilicate glass in contemporary art.
Using clear Borosilicate glass (PYREX), solid glass rods will be transformed into sculptural componants, and glass tubes will be blown and connected in the flame to form larger scale installations.
Through a combination of demonstraions and free practise times, starting from the basics participants will build a vocabulary of flameworking skills that will form a solid grounding to move forward using flameworking as an art form.
Artist Zoe Garner will also deliver presentations on her own practise as a contemporary flameworker, the history of flameworking and setting up a studio.
