The Flow Country

The Flow Country
Saturday, August 24, 2019 to Sunday, October 20, 2019

Discover the Flow Country — one of Europe’s last wild places!

This vast peatland landscape in the far north of Scotland is a special place for wildlife and also
plays a key role in defending us against climate change.

Find out about the wildlife and people of the Flow Country, how peat forms and why it is important to us, the ongoing restoration work, how the Flow Country is inspiring artists, and more.

Explore the area through imagery and film, plus an impressive interactive landscape model that allows you to fly over the Flow Country itself and even walk about a bog without getting your feet wet! There are even computer games and activities for children.

In partnership with RSPB Scotland and the Peatlands Partnership, with support from the
Heritage Lottery Fund.
