Following careful consideration, Sunderland City Council has taken the difficult decision to close the following venues or to cancel or postpone events, please see below: .   

Facility closures for the foreseeable future:

  • Sunderland Museums and Winter Gardens 
  • Arts Centre Washington 
  • Local History Library @ ETR 
  • Houghton Library 
  • Washington Library 
  • City Library @ Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
  • Bowes Railway
  • National Glass Centre
  • North East Land Sea and Air Museum
  • Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art
  • Sunderland Empire Theatre
  • Washington Old Hall
  • WWT Washington

Active Sunderland 3K run postponed until 27 September
