Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens welcomes visits from organised groups including home educated children, out of school clubs, community groups, adult learners, College and University groups. Home Educated Children and Out of School Clubs
Please contact Jennie or Marie in the Public Engagement and Learning Team to plan your visit. This could include facilitated sessions with our staff or guidance about the learning resources to best suit your group.
Community groups can book a guided tour of the Museum or Winter Gardens (subject to availability). The Museum can also loan out artefacts to your community group through the Museum in a Box service (charges apply). There are regular monthly talks on Saturday afternoons run by the Friends of Sunderland Museums and drop in textile demonstrations on Wednesday afternoons.
College and University Groups
The Public Engagement and Learning Team can provide talks to trainee teachers, travel and tourism, event management and business students. Students can find out how the Museum works, explore museum careers or volunteer time to support our busy events programme.
