With so much to experience in Sunderland, you'll find something for the whole family. Situated on the North East coast and connected to the rest of the UK by excellent road and rail links, getting here couldn’t be easier!
Perhaps Sunderland's most prominent landmark is Penshaw Monument. It was built in 1844 in honour of the first Earl of Durham, John George Lambton. Penshaw was modelled on Theseion, the Temple of Thesus in Athens.
