Sambuca

Sambuca is a North East chain of Italian restaurants with venus across the region.  Sambuca at Sunderland comes complete with sweeping views across the River Wear.  The restaurant has specials including three course lunches for £3.95, it is hard to beat on price. Walk-ins are welcome, but the restaurant does advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Did you know?

Perhaps Sunderland's most prominent landmark is Penshaw Monument. It was built in 1844 in honour of the first Earl of Durham, John George Lambton. Penshaw was modelled on Theseion, the Temple of Thesus in Athens.
