STILL TIME TO ENTER SUNDERLAND BIG BIKE RIDE

ON YOUR BIKE - STILL TIME TO ENTER THE ACTIVE SUNDERLAND BIG BIKE RIDE!

There’s still time to enter this year's Active Sunderland BIG Bike Ride this weekend (16, 17 June), a hugely popular annual event which sees hundreds of cyclists pedalling their way to being more active on attractive routes across the city.

Sunderland City Council Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, Councillor John Kelly, said: “The Active Sunderland BIG Bike Ride is one of Sunderland’s most popular annual events.

“ This year we already have over 350 cyclists signed up, but we want to see as many people as possible taking part so I would encourage as many people as possible to come along at the weekend and register on the day.”

The weekend will see the return of the BIG Family Ride to Herrington Country Park on Saturday 16 June, using a five mile traffic free route within the boundaries of the park starting at 10am.

The family ride is followed by the 20 and 35 mile rides on Sunday 17 June from St. Peter’s Riverside starting at 9.45am. Both rides will use Sunderland’s extensive 141km (87.6 miles) cycle path network with routes stretching across the city.

Entry

Entry is only £10  per person and includes an Active Sunderland backpack, medal and goody bag.

Registration for the Family ride on Saturday at Herrington Country Park commences at 8.30am.

Registration for the 20 and 35 mile ride on Sunday at the University Campus on St. Peter’s Riverside commences at 8.00am. Please note that cash transactions only can be processed for people wishing to enter on the day and that remaining available t-shirts may be limited.
