Sunderland Race for Life 5k & 10k

Sunday, June 2, 2019

Race for Life 5k is suitable for all ages and abilities and the 10k is a great step up from our 5k events. The event is non-competitive and open to everyone – bring the whole family and walk, jog or run at your own pace while raising valuable funds for Cancer Research UK’s lifesaving work.

The Sunderland route is set in the grounds of this former colliery and starts and finishes on the field adjacent to the children’s play area, in the shadow of the amazing Penshaw Monument. The route explores the park, taking in the lake, local wildlife and providing beautiful views across the North East.  The course is mainly on footpaths with a couple of hills along the way. The 10k is a double lap of the 5k route.
