Join the North East Autism Society for their annual Sunderland Scramble event - a 5K family friendly muddy obstacle course on Saturday 20th May at Herrington Country Park. Kids go FREE! That’s right, the frost may still be nipping at your toes but it’s time to dig out the base layers and water-proof leggings ready for this year’s new and improved Sunderland Scramble.

Still the region’s only family-friendly obstacle challenge, this year’s 5k looks set to keep even our seasoned events regulars on their toes.

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Herrington Country Park at the foot of the Penshaw Monument, hundreds of families and individual competitors will be taking part in a fundraising event they’ll never forget. Throughout the 5k course you will be challenged to conquer various fun obstacles. Registration is £25 with a pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £40 to help our work with children, young people and adults with autism.

Last year’s event saw over 600 people take part and raised over £18K and this year NEAS want to make the event bigger and better!

Children aged 15 and under can enter the event for FREE (limit to 2 children per adult), with the minimum age to enter being 6 years old. Please note that children will not receive runners’ packs on the day but t-shirts can be purchased from our online-shop and ordered in advance.
